1.延長線使用時，不要插用過多的電器，以免插板用電超載發熱失火。
2.不要只使用最方便的某個牆壁插座而閒置其他牆壁插座，這樣可能加速該插座老化，甚至因電流過載導致不安全。
3.碎紙機、封口機等體積較小的辦公電器，散熱性較差，不使用時應拔除電源。
4.若要長時間離開座位、不用電腦時，可設置為"休眠模式"，以降低電腦功耗；外出或下班時應隨手關閉電腦，不要讓電腦長時間待機。
5.關閉電腦時，應同時關閉顯示器電源並且關閉延長線開關。
6.下班後，將飲水機、電風扇、空調等電源插頭拔掉或關閉電源開關，既安全又省電。
7.手機、相機等電池充電時間不宜過長(最好不要超過6小時)，下班時應拔除正在充電的電池，以防止充電時間過長電池爆炸。
